Knives by Michael West:

In this picture you can see 2 of Michael West’s knives, and one of them was part of our exhibition at Holstebro Museum in the autumn of 1996. Both knives have a hand forged blade, and the handles are made from ebony with inlays in silver. the sheaths are made from leather, and have silver fittings that carry the strap.

About Michael West:

Michael West is one of the prominent Danish knife makers. He has worked a lot with his design, and has chosen very different solutions than most other makers. The shape of Michael West’s knives is almost organic, and the lines are very consistent. This is combined with a very high level of craftsmanship and perfectionism in every minute detail.

All the time Michael West seek new ways of solving craftsman like problems in order to be able to make every detail of the knife completely impeccable.

Another hallmark of Michael West is the silver fittings on the knives and the sheaths. These are also made absolutely perfect, which is especially impressive considering the almost organic shape of the knives and the sheaths.
